YoYo Factory – Regen – White – Profile
The Regen is another signature plastic yo-yo for Gentry Stein. It’s solid enough on the string while powering through all your combos and catch zone is big enough to give you the confidence to land them. I think the white one looks stunning and while it’s not the best bang for your buck, it’s a good performer that a lot of people really love. If you’re looking for a high end plastic, this should be on your list.
“Currently it's my favorite throw. I would even consider it over some of my metal throws (shutter, 2015 Benchmark O). It is very durable because of the Delrin material it's made of. This also makes it a little weightier, which I personally prefer. The shape is great, making it very comfortable to hold. Only downside would be the Spin time. It is a little shorter than expected, but makes up for that by being fantastic at regens (as expected). Overall, fantastic yoyo.”
“People seem to be very fond of this yoyo from the mystery box, but it was a huge let down for me. For one, the shape is extremely polarizing, you either love it or you don't (and I actually love the shape). Second, this yoyo is not good for beginners, I found it much harder to catch the string due to its profile. Although it is suppose to be the metal counter part to the Shutter, I would say the shutter definitely outperforms it. What does this yoyo have going for it? For one, the pure black version that came from the 2014 mystery box looks extremely nice for a yoyo. The material also feels very comfortable in your hand. Performance wise, I would choose most metals around the price range over this plastic. But to each to their own, if you like plastics, I would say this is a decent choice for around 50 bucks.”
