One Drop – Benchmark H – Pink – Profile
The older, now cheaper 2013 Benchmark H from One Drop is still a great performer. Not quite as light and narrower than the 2014 but still capable. You can make it a bit lighter by swapping out the Side Effects but that will bring it up to around the same price as the new one. I’d still steer you towards a Shutter or Shu Ta in this price range but if you want a One Drop, the Benchmark H is a good choice.
“This is one of my very first throws, and I am in love. I can't compare it to much, and don't have a whole lot of throwing under my belt. But what I can say is that from a beginner's perspective, this throw is awesome. It is extremely stable on the string, and doesn't mind when you fib up. It looks fantastic, and you can feel the quality of it when it's in your hand. It plays great, looks great, and the price is right. What more can you ask for?”
“One of my favorite throws. Easy to land string hits, stable with a long sleep time, and forgiving. The side effects are great for new throwers, as you can play around and find a preferred weight much cheaper than buying more throws. Even as I buy higher end yoyos, I still find myself coming back to this one frequently, and rank it in my top few purchases. It's a good deal at its ~$60 price point, it's a steal when you consider it was machined and anodized in the USA.”
