Caribou Lodge – Arctic Circle 1 – Blue with Red Speckle – Profile
One of the few Caribou Lodge throws that doesn’t have nubs on the hub. It feels light on the string while remaining stable and still relatrively fast. It’s great for flow routines that aren’t necessarily fast which is perfect since it’s Zach Gormley’s signature throw. You’ll be fairly hard pressed to find an Arctic Circle one these days since it’s discontinued but the Arctic Circle 2 remains just as good while adding longer spin times and more stability.
“I love the AC1. This is the yoyo that convinced me that full sized solid feeling yoyos aren't for me. The speed and float on this yoyo are balanced more for a solid speed feeling, but it doesn't feel like I'm struggling to keep up with it. I really do regret selling mine, and intend to buy another, it is that good. The speed and the fact that it feels smaller than 55mm in diameter makes it a little, hair less stable than, say, a Sasquatch, but you'd really need to be messing up your tricks to send this yoyo off balance. I haven't played an AC2 to compare this with, but if you can't afford a 2, the AC1 is a great yoyo anyway”
